Vee: When I heard that Windows8 was going to have 'gaze controlled' navigation, I immediately thought of the singular thing you'd want to do while on the internet which requires both hands to be free: eating Sloppy Joes.
But then there's the problem of your eyes being duplicitous, sneaky organs, which will always betray what you really want to look at. There are tons of things on the internet you know you shouldn't click -Candii, 22, Toronto, wants to chat with you!!!- but you always look.
If that skirting glance translated into a click, then you'd be in trouble. You'd actually have to TALK to Candii 22 in Toronto, and would find out she's much less interested in what you have to say and much MORE interested in injecting 600gigs of malware onto your system.
Jaime: Much like Wiimotes and Kinects, I don't really see the allure of this kind of technology... There are few things I can claim to have total mastery of, but on that short list I can at least include 'using my hands to touch things'. Why would I want to use my eyes to touch things? Or to wave my arms around like an epileptic traffic cop? When did pressing buttons become so tedious and difficult that we had to invent awkward and slow alternative controls that only work a quarter of the time? Bah!
