Divide and Conquer

Vee: Believe it or not, James once had friends- a whole pack of them! They would even engage in mutual activities each night. I've no idea what that entails, having no friends of my own, but now, I don't need to know.
Night after night, we wile away the hours at our respective computers, only occasionally shouting "Vee Sucks" or "Jaime Sucks" as a substitute for interaction.
Divide and conquer has been my motto for as long as I can remember, and it has served me quite well.
Like many a cult before me, I latch onto those who are weak, are enduring times of hardship, or happen to straggle from the pack. And then I show them a better life -safety, comfort, routine, success- a life within THE FORTRESS.
The only trade you must make is that of outside companions, family, hobbies not situated within the home, and all your hopes and dreams.
Does this sound like the place for you?
Do you lack ties to colleagues and/or peers?
Are you seeking a guiding force in your life, perhaps an austere female influence?
If so, you're shit out of luck, because the maximum occupancy of THE FORTRESS is two people.

Jaime: Some people seem to be naturally prolific with their artistic pursuits, producing content like an obsession - and for many, that's what it seems to be (often to their detriment) Vee produces so much, not because of an innate uncontrollable urge to do so, but from diligence, hard work and an incredible single minded focus on her task.

I have an artistic process which can only be described as laborious... I don't like making art, it is a painful, arduous and unfulfilling chore. I have to struggle to finish drawings, and animation requires that I willfully force myself into my seat every minute lest I explode out of it in sheer boredom and frustration. I've worked other jobs that people have described as difficult or monotonous, like washing dishes or shoveling gypsum, but I always found them to be something of a respite from the terrible experience of creative endeavours - physical labour at least affords one the ability to think and wonder, while creativity requires incredible focus on a subject which isn't interesting in the slightest.

You can't speak or interact with others while you do it, you can give some attention to listening to music or watching a show, but only peripherally and nothing novel that will be too distracting (anything with subtitles or too many action sequences is right out). You remain almost perfectly silent and immobile while doing it. The assignment is never truly complete, it just simply runs out of time or becomes abandoned - for me at least, there is never a sense of accomplishment when a piece is 'completed'.
