PARADE OF (PLASTIC) PLEASURE

Rating very high on my personal excitement meter is the upcoming CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON plastic model kit from MOEBIUS. The two-figure kit (Creature and Kay Lawrence) is sculpted by the talented Adam Dougherty. He also worked on the Bela "Broadway Dracula" Lugosi kit on sale now.

The Creature kit is planned to come with two sets of arms -- one set to carry Julie or the other for a solo, menacing pose.


Excellent bust -- and the Creature figure's very nice, too!

If you build model kits, I strongly suggest you advance order your Creature kit from Steve over at CULT TVman. Steve's a really nice guy and he's way into monster models, so I highly recommend you get your monster stuff from him!

Also at CULT TVman is the exclusive "Ghostly Green" Munsters House model kit coming soon. The regular kit will be the usual drab color, but Steve's will be cast in "ghostly" green. I love it! More info is HERE.

All new styrene plastic kit of 1313 Mockingbird Lane from Moebius Modes. This new kit is in scale with the Aurora Addams Family House and the Polar Lights Psycho House. Approximately 1:87 HO Scale. LET'S MAKE MONSTER MODELS!

It would have been more fitting to have this released last year on the Bride's 75th Anniversary. As it is, the latest recalculated on-sale date is December 23 of this year -- a strange date for anything like this to be released.

What I'm talking about is the MOEBIUS MODELS version of the BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN two-figure plastic model kit scene with the Frankenstein monster. Sculpted by Jeff Yagher, this kit is sure to be a nice compliment to the recently-released Bela Lugosi DRACULA figure. The kit will retail for $39.95.

ELVIRA = MOEBIUS MODELS

My aspirations for a career in journalism ended with a big "-30-" a long time ago, but some of the profession's "Golden Rules" have stuck with me all these years. One of them was "wrap your fish up in yesterday's newspaper." Another was, when you report in error, always make it right as soon as possible.

And, while I like to think that at least some of the blog posts here at MONSTER MAGAZINE WORLD have longer legs than one day, there comes the occasional time when I inadvertently make a mistake.

Yesterday, I posted a blog where I stated that the ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK model kit was made by Monarch Models. This was in error. The kit is sold by MOEBIUS MODELS. I have corrected the post so that it reflects the accurate name. Sorry, guys!

ELVIRA'S FIGURE FOR SALE

The ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK model kit has finally been, ahem, released. MOEBIUS MODELS is to be commended for what looks to be a superbly-sculpted figure. Oh, and the kit is made from injected . . . plastic. Nary a bit of silicone was used in the process -- well, maybe for a mold release.

I don't normally recommend one hobby storefront or web shop over another, but since MONSTER MAGAZINE WORLD has received a lot of traffic from his site, I say you purchase your Elvira kit from Steve over at CULTTVMAN. Steve's got some cool stuff. Check it out HERE.
