Vee: Our mayor over here really divided people when he was elected, since he's ultra conservative.
All the hippies have been laying in wait, keen to find something to jump on like a pack of emaciated vegetarian wolves. And they got it- they're attacking him for cutting funding to the arts and libraries.
You know what? Good. I hope they cut that funding. Ford is right.
Don't get me wrong- I'm not saying Rob Ford isn't anti gay or that he isn't racist, what I'm saying is 90% of our libraries are complete shit [boasting such treasure as VHS work-out tapes and Harlequin Romance novels] and that giving money to artists just encourages them to create incestuous bullshit that nobody cares about except other artists.
I'm sure your pile of used hairspray cans with 'environment' scrawled on it is very deep, but when nobody is paying 40$ to see it, and you have to beg the government for money, you need to take a step back and realize what you're doing is complete and utter bullshit.
Jaime: I've never referred to myself as an artist, despite dedicating my life to an artistic craft, because I don't want to be associated with this sort of ridiculousness - tens of millions of dollars a year go towards these absurd groups of people, and yet tuitions remain high, gallery and event tickets are overpriced, and every talented and skillful person I have ever met struggles daily to pay their rent while preposterously self absorbed people throw red paint at a canvas and call it 'art'.
